Der Handwerksmarkt in Otavalo ist berühmt für seine Grösse….Ja er sei sogar der grösste in ganz Südamerika! Wir lieben Märkte und liessen es uns deshalb nicht nehmen, am besten Markttag, Samstags, dorthin zu gehen. Das Städtchen Otavalo befindet sich ungefähr 2 Auto/Busstunden von Quito, befindet sich in der nördlichen Andenregion und liegt auf ca. 2500 Metern über Meer. Die Stadt ist umgeben von mehreren Vulkanen. Wir checkten in einem herzigen Hostel namens Riviera Sucre ein. Ein altes Haus im Kolonial-Stil, genau nach unserem Geschmack.
